‘Cocosmacroon’ and ‘Wattanjûh’
A cocosmacroon is not only the name of a Dutch biscuit, but also a typical expression from Leiden for a strange guy. Together with the ‘Wattanjûh , the ‘Cocosmacroon’ is inspired by a Frisian ‘skûtsje’. An old type of ship that fits perfect in the historic city center of Leiden. A ‘skûtsje’ (Frisian for barge) is a collective name for small tallow-like flat-bottomed boats that served as inland vessels in the early twentieth century. Both boats have been designed by a Frisian shipbuilder on behalf of the ‘Leidse Rederij’.
These ‘Leiden Water Buses’ have a music system to which digital sound sources fit. A maximum of 32 people can be accommodated on the Cocosmacroon and the Wattanjûh.
